Friday night was a close one with the Mobsters holding a 2-1 lead until a waaaaaay too long extra time (thanks pdl refs!) allowed the Dragons to pull back an equalizer to make it 2-2. Right after that tying goal was scored the whistle blew. Coincidence? Hmmmm..
Sunday night was a very spirited affair (on the pitch and in the stands) with the boys winning 2-1 courtesy of goals by Robert Garcia and Eric Bojado. The lone goal by Burlingame was thanks to a weak-sauce penalty call in the box. And to the shock of nobody, the Dragons were given upwards of eight minutes of added time to score a tying goal however once the ref realized there was no way they were scoring (legitimately) on our defense that night he blew the whistle.
So we should've had six points but we're glad to take four. Next up for Las Vegas is on the road at BYU. The Cougars do a decent job as far as streaming their marches go so check our Facebook or Twitter pages for links on Thursday.
The other big soccer news this week is that the Copa America kicks off this Friday. The USMNT will be taking on Columbia. We will be joining our brothers and sisters in support the American Outlaws Las Vegas at McMullan's for all the US matches. It will be an absolute blast and we encourage everyone to come out and see what the Las Vegas soccer community is all about. Kickoff is 6:30pm. COME ON YOU YANKS!!
